Demi Lovato races up global charts with ‘f**king savage’ new single Sorry Not Sorry

Since being released overnight, the track – presumably the first taster from her upcoming sixth album – has peaked at No2 on iTunes in the US.

It’s also infiltrated the Top 10 in the UK – it’s number nine at time of writing.

Sorry Not Sorry is also presently No17 on iTunes in Australia, No4 in Canada, No1 in Brazil, No7 in France, No6 in Ireland and No2 in Spain.

In a note to fans, the 24-year-old wrote: “Thank you for allowing me the time I needed at the end of last year to step away from all the craziness.

“I’m so happy that I was able to come back to writing music more energised and inspired than ever, and to be able to give my all and more, to this new chapter.

“Sorry Not Sorry is the first of many songs that I’ve been working on, and I can’t wait for you guys to hear all of them.

“This is an anthem for anyone who’s ever been hated on and has risen above it and come out from the other side like a f**king savage!”

Lovato has already featured on two other tracks this year, but this is her first single in her own right since last year’s Body Say.

Instruction, which is a collaboration with Jax Jones and Stefflon Don, was released just weeks ago and is currently ascending the UK singles charts; currently at No46.

Her last album, Confident (2015), peaked at No6 in the UK and No2 in the US, spawning the singles Cool For The Summer and the title track.

It also earned her her first Grammy nomination, for Best Pop Vocal Album.
