Brighton Ladies Day worst dressed: Race-goers risk wardrobe malfunction on breezy day

Ladies arrived dressed for the occasion on a bright but breezy day at Brighton Races Route Mobile Ladies Day during the three day Maronthonbet Festival of Racing.

Despite windy weather, women still donned sleeveless numbers and pinned extravagant fascinators tightly to their heads.

Luminous-coloured frocks appeared to be the theme of this year’s event.

One woman opted for a dress with a bright pink top, a white skirt with a bright pink print and a fascinator of the same shade.

Another lady brought out the red hue in her hair with a bright orange outfit.

Her dress featured a ruffle around the neck, a slight fishtail, and she accessorised with pearl embossed black sandals and tied bright orange flowers to the ringlets in her hair.

While many chose to brave the high winds in short dresses, it was headwear which appeared the main concern on the day.

Several women were seen grappling with the fascinators on their heads making sure they didn’t fly off.

One woman took all weather precautions by coming prepared with a poncho which she draped over her hairdo.

Brighton Races kicked off on Wednesday and is the track’s richest race with a £20,000 prize up for grabs.

The racecourses’ location was voted one of the best place to watch sport in the UK by The Telegraph last year.

Today, Ladies Day, was a celebration of elaborate dress and a host of entertainment.

All women in attendance were in competition to win the ’best-dressed’ title.

Tomorrow, Friday, will play host to seven races, including the Brighton Bullet handicap which offers a £12,000 prize.

Back in August, Goodwood race-goers also risked wadrobe malfunctions in strong winds
