Arsenal v Western Sydney Wanderers LIVE: Alexandre Lacazette starts, Elneny at centre-back

10:35: Blimey, we’ve been LIVE for 30 minutes and haven’t mention any transfer rumours! I’ll be sacked for that.

To fill that void, let’s discuss the latest on Monaco star Thomas Lemar.

Gunners supporters are desperate to sign the French international, but I’m afraid there’s bad news.

French newspaper L’Equipe claim Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has no intention of selling Lemar unless they receive an outrageous offer.

I’ve no idea what constitutes ‘outrageous’ but let’s assume it’s Kyle Walker territory.

10:25: These Australian supporters are eager beavers. There’s still 35 minutes until we’re underway and the stadium is already full.

Gone are the days of smashing as many beers as humanly possible in the tunnel before annoying everyone to reach your seat.

10:20: Feel free to tell me I’m wrong, but what on earth is Mohamed Elneny doing at centre-back? Is Arsene Wenger preempting the traditional Arsenal injury crisis?

I’m also a little baffled to see Alexandre Lacazette playing just behind Olivier Giroud. I guess it’s only pre-season, but it feels like the last day at school where everyone plays where they want for banter purposes…

10:15: Did you join me on Thursday? If you did, you’ll know that Alexandre Lacazette took only a quarter of an hour to get his first goal for Arsenal.

Lacazette came on for his Arsenal debut as part of a 10-man substitution in the 68th minute and was on hand 15 minutes later to sidefoot the ball into the net from winger Alex Iwobi’s cutback.

10:10: OK, let’s have a look at the starting XI. As you can see, Arsene Wenger’s made a host of changes for today’s clash with Western Sydney Wanderers.

There’s a first start for Alexandre Lacazette. He’s playing just behind Olivier Giroud with Alex Iwobi in support.

Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey are the two holding midfielders.

Mohamed Elneny is playing centre-back… for some unknown reason, but who am I to doubt the Professor. He partners captain Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ainsley Maitland-Niles operating as wing-backs.

10:05: Arsenal XI: Opsina, Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, Maitland-Niles, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xhaka, Elneny, Iwobi, Ramsey, Lacazette, Giroud.

Subs: Mertesacker, Ozil, Walcott, Welbeck, Martinez, Kolasinac, Coquelin, Bielik, Nelson, Nketiah, Willock, Bramall.

10:00: Good morning folks, welcome to our LIVE coverage of Arsenal’s pre-season antics.

Alexandre Lacazette stole the headlines when scoring during his 15-minute cameo on Thursday, but can he do it again today?

We’ll find out if he’s made the starting XI any moment now. Yes, I know Arsenal have other players – but he’s basically the equivalent of Beyonce in Destiny’s Child right now!
