Changes are afoot at Apple Leisure Group. The company is continuing with its strategy to grow its resort brand management portfolio through its subsidiary AMResorts.

To that end, it is rebranding not only its communication efforts but its development initiatives.

First and foremost, the development side has been rebranded as ALG Development. To lead the team, the company appointed Federico Moreno-Nickerson as Vice President.

“Growing our existing development team is part of our strategic approach to give hotel owners the right partner to grow in the competitive all-inclusive sector and secure strong return on investments,” said Javier Coll, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Apple Leisure Group, in a recent release.

“Adding an industry veteran like Federico Moreno-Nickerson to ALG’s development team supports our strategy to reach our goal of signing our 100th resort management deal by 2020,” added Coll.

Moreno-Nickerson brings more than 30 years of experience in destination marketing, hotel management, operations and product development in the luxury hotel space.

He will spearhead the drive to expand the company’s footprint throughout Mexico, Latin America and the English-speaking Caribbean. As part of this initiative, he will focus on strengthening relations with tourism entities and partners in ALG Development’s target destinations.

Prior to joining ALG Development, Moreno-Nickerson worked for Expedia’s luxury brand, Classic Vacations, where he was the director of product development for 13 years. His background also includes stints with such international chains as Accor, Four Seasons, Hilton International and Hyatt Domestic in Mexico, Posadas and Camino Real.

The company also unveiled a new website. The site provides hotel owners and investors with the information about the company’s offerings (both individual companies and resort brands) and unique positioning, as well as the latest news and industry updates and insights from the leadership team. Site visitors can view the latest in new construction, as well as property conversions.

The site provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s portfolio of six vertically integrated companies, which affords ALG the opportunity to oversee every aspect of the luxury travel experience:
